We have been awarded the ‘Sandford Award for Heritage Education’ for our learning programmes at North Lincolnshire Museum and Normanby Hall Country Park. The judges observed our formal school programme as well as assessing our informal learning opportunities.
The award is instituted by the Heritage Education Trust to recognise quality and excellence in education services.
After assessing us, the judges agreed that our educational programme is delivered by well trained and enthusiastic facilitators who are able to engage, inform and inspire visitors. They also marked us highly for our link to national heritage through our education programme for Key Stage One, Two and Three, as local finds and archaeological and historical sites are constantly referenced.
Judith R Jones, Sandford Awards judge, said about Normanby Hall Country Park,
“A host of imaginative and challenging programmes are offered both to school parties and general public. A school visit here will certainly enrich a child’s life.”
